REHABILITATION OF FIRE-ALARM & (PA) SYSTEM AT FALEOLO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Fire Alarm and PA System – Faleolo International Airport Benz Engineering Limited successfully completed the repair, testing, and recommissioning of the Fire Alarm and Public Address (PA) System at Faleolo International Airport, ensuring full restoration of critical life safety and emergency communication functions within a high-security aviation environment. The scope of work included a detailed inspection and assessment of the existing fire alarm and PA infrastructure, followed by systematic fault identification and diagnostics across all system components. This included the fire alarm control panels, detection devices (smoke and heat detectors), manual call points, alarm sounders, PA amplifiers, loudspeakers, interface modules, control circuits, and associated cabling networks. Benz Engineering engineers carried out repair and replacement works on defective devices, damaged wiring, communication loops, and system interfaces to restore full operational integrity. All field devices were cleaned, tested, and verified to ensure correct response signals and reliable communication with the central control systems. Comprehensive system testing and recommissioning were performed, including loop integrity testing, device addressing verification, alarm and fault simulation, voice evacuation testing, cause-and-effect matrix validation, zoning checks, and integration testing between the fire alarm system and PA system. Battery backup systems and power supplies were also tested to ensure uninterrupted operation during power failure scenarios. The Public Address system was fully tested for clear voice intelligibility, proper zone selection, emergency messaging, and automated evacuation announcements. All audio outputs were verified for clarity, coverage, and compliance with aviation safety communication requirements. Following completion of all repair and testing works, the integrated Fire Alarm and PA System was fully restored to operational readiness in accordance with relevant fire safety and airport operational standards. The system now provides reliable early fire detection, rapid emergency alerting, and effective passenger evacuation communication. The successful completion of this project significantly enhanced safety, operational reliability, and emergency response capability at Faleolo International Airport, ensuring continuous protection of passengers, staff, and critical airport infrastructure.
